Winifred grew up in both Aspen, Colorado and Portland, Oregon. She moved to Portland permanently to attend Pacific Northwest College of Art where she received a BFA in printmaking. Immediately after graduating in 2005, Winifred became a certified Bench Jeweler from A.J.I. and in 2006 began apprenticing/working at Alchemy, a high-end jewelry store in the Pearl District in NW Portland. There she learned designing and manufacturing skills that would aid her in making her own work. Since leaving Alchemy Jewelry in 2008 Winifred has gone on to produce several lines of Jewelry including LOVEKNUCKLES, FRUITSKULLS, and Snakes on a Chain. Recently Winifred has done a number of collaborations with Artists and Organizations including Bassnectar, STS9, Reggie Watts, Skinner, Corey Smith, and Pangea Seed. Her work is heavily influenced by her fine arts background, memories of Pee-Wee Herman’s refrigerator, and her vast collection of Heavy Metal magazines and psychedelic comic books. Her stylized designs are each made individually and are NOT produced overseas.
